Sapa sits high on a cliff overlooking Muong Hoa Valley and facing Fansipan Mountain, Vietnam’s tallest, on the other side of the valley. Terraced rice fields cover the floor and climb high up the sides of the valley. This valley is home to several ethnic groups which still grow and weave the hemp for their traditional clothing and embroider the intricate motifs that adorn it.
